Though our best success stories often come from those who sought MAT treatment as a final option, we urge anyone dealing with discomfort to consider MAT and its benefits as a first option. Save yourself the emotional, physical, and monetary expense of likely invasive, risky, costly, and tedious courses of treatment or surgery.
After you connect with a practitioner in your area and set up an appointment time, consider communicating your current complaints and aliments. MAT Practitioners are trained to look at your health picture as a whole and the more they know about your recent and past health history, the more they can help you as an individual.
Your first session with an MAT Practitioner will likely include discussing your medical history, your goals, current body complaints or aliments, and more. The MAT practitioner will perform a series of initial range of motion assessments that will aim to give them a baseline view to address your specific muscular limitations. This process gives them a clearer path forward on where to start for your unique needs as their client.
Throughout your MAT sessions, you and your MAT practitioner will work toward improving your muscular contractile efficiency one muscle at a time. With each muscle test and corresponding activation technique, MAT helps you build a higher tolerance level for your neuromuscular system and in turn increases your stress threshold as a whole.
Greg Roskopf often references MAT as a tool to keep clientele ‘tuned up’, similar to tuning up your vehicle. Our body’s require maintenance in order to function optimally, keep everything in alignment, and to feel our best. Talk to your MAT Practitioner about an ideal maintenance program for your individual needs as we are all different!y
